✨ ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

We’ll pick you up from your accommodation anywhere between Å and Hamnøy and head toward the northern coast of Lofoten, where the chances of clear skies are usually the best. Why north? Because it gives us that perfect open view of the horizon — crucial for spotting the aurora, especially when the activity is low.

If the weather allows, we’ll set up a small bonfire right on the beach 🔥 Picture yourself sitting by the fire, sipping hot chocolate, roasting marshmallows, and chatting while the waves roll in and the stars begin to appear overhead. It’s one of those simple Arctic moments that feel almost unreal — peaceful, cold, and absolutely beautiful.

We’ll help you with your camera settings and take a few photos of you under the night sky, so you can go home with memories that last longer than the aurora itself 📸 And even if the lights decide to stay hidden, you’ll still get to enjoy an unforgettable Arctic evening by the sea — far away from light pollution, surrounded by silence, warmth, and laughter.

🌠 ABOUT THE NORTHERN LIGHTS IN LOFOTEN

Northern Lights chasing in Lofoten is always a bit of an adventure. Unlike Tromsø, where you can drive in four different directions — even all the way to Finland if needed — here, we’ve mostly got one route: east. But that’s part of the charm. The weather here is super local, meaning it can be cloudy in Reine but perfectly clear just a few kilometers away in Ramberg.

Catching the aurora depends on two things: clear skies and solar activity. Some nights, the lights swirl wildly above in shades of green, pink, and red; other nights, they’re faint glows on the horizon — visible mainly to your camera. And yes, sometimes, we wait and hope, and they simply don’t show up. That’s life in the Arctic.

If the weather looks hopeless, we’ll cancel the tour and offer you a full refund or the chance to reschedule. But if we do go out and the aurora plays shy, we’ll still make it a night to remember — because honestly, how often do you get to sit by a bonfire on an Arctic beach, roasting marshmallows and watching the waves under a sky full of stars?
